Rotary-Man and a Robot

Hey, so this week at school we were introduced to Photoshop and After Effects. I've had worked with Photoshop a few times before, but still learned a lot and had even more fun. Here's an assignment (a superhero) and a personal thing (a robot) to further explore what we were learning. Masks are super useful :D

We were free to do our own superhero so I did Rotary-Man, a character I'm playing around with every now and then. He's a former sailor with a powerful (possibly alien) device embedded in his chest. The device allows him to dial various traits and attributes either up or down, such as strength, speed, vision, etc.

I Like Tea

I've been playing with charcoal lately. Not gonna share any pictures, just wanted to get it out there. It's messy, charcoal, but it looks really neat - like, try it if you haven't.

This week we've been doing storytelling keys at school, for three different scenes, which has been fun. We've started each morning with Mike Nguyen and his thoughts and philosophies regarding the medium of animation - great stuff :D For more info about Mike, look for his feature film in progress 'My Little World'.

Anyway, finally got around to entering one of those new Sketch-O-Daily contests over at sketchoholic.com. You have like 24 hours to enter, and I still only used about an hour on it. Feel I could have used more, you know. Topic was 'civilized creature' and I thought 'tea'. A few of us did :D

Got third place - Yay!! And here's some Photoshop fun. Scary shaman.

Charcoal, people.

No Nose Seadog

I'm continuing my Photoshop practice, and I got to say that Photoshop is actually a lot of fun to use - time really flies with it. Fun fun fun :D

Anyway, I wanted to do something different this time, instead of a face I started out with an octopus kinda creature. Ten minutes in, it's a face...

With all this Photoshop going on, I thought it best to do something quick in Painter.

I'm feeling good about it :D

He put the 'rock' in rocket science

Joined the Intensity Club this friday - and won! Topic was 'prehistoric rocket scientist' and it was a lot of fun.

It was a great way to end a great week. Looking forward to next week :D

In other news, I've played around further with Photoshop today and had much more fun than last time I tried it. I think the colors are off (different screens), but I like it all the same.
